A Saturday Stroll through the Park

Saturday Wes and I decided we needed to finally get over to the Botanical Gardens in Central Park (everyone has been raving about them). I think we happened to go on an in between flower day because there weren't many flowers, but plenty of places for them.
Our plan was to go to the gardens and then take the bus down to lunch on 51st. We ended up loving the park that we walked the whole way! We kept to the East side (where we don't go much) so we got to see a lot of new parts of the park!! Here are some pictures from our adventure.

At least there was a ton of green!

Super pretty archway with vines all through it

The Reservoir

Probably our favorite find throughout the walk

A fun sailing pond!

I enjoyed the boats

I love the people in the park

On our way to lunch we decided to stop by Nike town to check out the new jerseys. They sure do look nice.

All in all, we had very sore feet when we made it back home but it was all worth it, especially since today it is a complete downpour with no break in sight.

On a totally separate note, we had more exciting news for the weekend...we bought our plane tickets to Peru! My vacation time at work was approved and we wasted no time. We are in for a very exciting adventure for Thanksgiving!

Cars Cars Cars!

This last weekend (yes that means I'm finally caught up!) we went to the NYC Auto Show. It is every mans dream land. Every car dealer you can think of is there with the flashiest cars they have. Some cars you were even able to sit inside! It was fun to oogle at cars we'll never own and even sit in luxury cars we dream of. We took a LOT of pictures (if you want to see all of them go to Wes' facebook) with very few including us. Here are some of our favorite cars and the few pictures that include us. Enjoy!

A street approved flying car!

Wes' favorite car of the show.

So excited!

Cool Back to the Future looking car!

Supposedly the fastest car at the show.

I still love my Audi's :)

This was probably my favorite car, mainly because it has no emmisons. It was completely electric with this awesome drive over charger.

Wes' childhood love.

I jumped in right after this dad holding his 1 year old...

Weirdest car...there were no side mirrors but little cameras... Look at the seats?

Still love my trucks :)

And motorcycles.

Just a great warm Saturday in the city.

There is no place like home

I've realized how wise Dorothy was while she sat there eagerly clicking her red sparkly shoes. There truly is no place like home! Wes and I had the wonderful chance to go home for about a week last month. I don't even know how to explain how wonderful it was. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

How could you resist this?

Steve loved the mascots at the NCAA games at the Rose Garden.

Wes' grandparents came to Portland as well! It made the trip even better that we could see them as well. We got to show them Portland on a beautiful day!

Waiting in the most ridiculous line for Voodoo donuts.

I do truly love Portland.

My sister had this beautiful little girl the day before we arrived. Isn't she adorable?

Big sisters are LOVING having a little girl in the house.

Scooter fun

Even nicer day for sledding at Mt. Hood!

Even got to spend it with these hooligans!

I was a little scared to go down the path we had made.

I mean, look at Mason's sled!

And, that is how our sled ended up.

I decided to stick to playing in the snow with this monkey.

Bopa even joined in!

She loved going down on just her bum.

Gotta do just as her older sister does.

It is hard not to take a billion pictures of them, they are just so dang cute!

Dad decided to try and build a snow cave.

So happy to be with family!

Without even saying much, it was a fantastic trip!
