Roses are green!

Today was just one of those Fridays when getting out of bed in the morning sounds like the WORST decision ever. Unfortunately, very few of us get to make the right decision and stay in bed. My choice to get up seemed even worse after I left my first class and it was snowing. A cute outfit with Toms does not go well with snow. Luckily, on days like these those you love most usually pull through to help you out.

First, I got to talk to my best friend Kate for over an hour! I haven't talked to her in a long time and it was so great to hear from her. Living in different states has been difficult, but I feel like we never grow apart. She actually made my miserable wet walk home enjoyable!

Then due to the snow all of Orem's sports teams practiced inside and had short practices so we got to go home at 4!! When I pulled into our apartment complex I decided I'd go and check the mail (like I have been every day since I wrote my best friend Claire who is in the MTC). I've been let down recently by loads of newspaper coupons but today just one lone little envelope sat awaiting me!! It was so good to recognize Clairebee's handwriting and get to read her letter specifically written to me.

Needless to say, I was in a great mood! I was home early, in my sweatpants and sweatshirt, got to hear from two of my best friends in one day, and was getting ready to watch basketball and 24 all night with Wes. I was set for a wonderful night, but never expecting what came next.

Wes walked in the door with ROSES!! And they weren't just any roses, they were GREEN!!! For no reason Wes got me roses in my favorite color. No anniversary. No birthday. No holiday. No reason except that he knows how much I love flowers. He knows that every morning, afternoon, and evening that I walk by those roses my day will be instantly brightened, and even more because they are green! Who even knew they had green roses? I didn't. Here is a picture. Hopefully they brighten your day too!

Okay, they really are greener than they look in these pictures. Either way, I love them and I love my husband for getting them for me. I am immensely blessed with amazing family and friends. If you are reading this it means you are either family or a friend and I want to thank you for being in my life. Thank you for being little rays of sunshine in my life, even when it is snowing.

Mr. Smarty Pants

I decided after yesterday that since I blog bragged about how smart my 5 year old niece is, today I'll brag about how smart my husband is! He might kill me when he reads this post, but...isn't a wife supposed to brag about her husband?

Wes got an internship this semester with a small ad firm in Provo called Stephen Hales Creative. They loved him so much they didn't hire another intern and instantly had him doing actual work for their firm! The big project he has been working on the last month or so is a burger march madness bracket. He has gone around to almost every burger place in the Provo area asking if they'd like to participate in this burger bracketology. These burger places have to do nothing except put some advertisements up saying they are participating in Stephan Hales Creative burger bracketology. The purpose of this project is to get advertising out for the firm and to treat the companies big clients. The big clients are the "judges" and create the bracket that everyone filling out a bracket is trying to guess correctly. It works just like march madness does. Wes explains it SO much better on the website. So, I'll brag by posting the website and having everyone go to it and see what amazing work Wes has produced. The website really brags for him without me saying anything. Feel free to fill out a bracket and "like" them on Facebook. Here it is:

Miss Smarty Pants

We've had so much going on in our life right now that we haven't had time to blog recently but I have to post this because it was the cutest thing ever. I usually have gmail open while eating lunch at home because  my sister will often chat with me or I'll talk to Wes while he is at work. Tonight I had the cutest little surprise when my sisters little chat box popped up. Here is the conversation:

Isn't that just the most precious cutest thing ever?? Jenelle is my 5 year old niece for any who doesn't know that. She is a huge drama queen and just he cutest thing ever. Alisha (my sister and mother of Jenelle) said she was so stressed about spelling everything correctly to me and almost started crying when she realized that she spelled bye wrong. I then got to babysit Meri and Isaac while Alisha and Jelly ran to the bus stop. They are just the cutest things ever.

I have a lot more to blog about but no time right now. I just had to put this up before I left for the day. Hope this brightened your day like it did mine.
